YOM SAYVAH

Because we understand the special place that an elder in a community holds and the reverence one must have for those senior members within the community, we have instituted what is kmown as Yom Sayvah (“Elders Day”).

Yom Sayvah is a very special time for the Chosen First Fruit.    It is a celebration of life for the elders of our community.  During this week we pay tribute to, show our appreciation for, and have the opportunity to learn from our elders.  This week of honoring our elders is spearheaded by the CFF but it is a national effort, an outpouring of love and concern for those whose shoulders we stand upon.  We organize activities for them and encourage the entire Sainthood to express their love and appreciation in the forms of gifts and other presentations.  The week is always filled with interesting activities that differ from year to year ranging from: special relaxations including foot and body massages and hair treatments, a special excursion which varies from year to year but has included trips to Jordan, Eilat, Jericho, the Sea of Life, etc. A gift ceremony during which the entire Sainthood bring gifts for the elders and an enjoyable evening of Divine inner attainment is had.  The Beit Safer Ahkvah ceremony becomes greater from year to year, involving our school children and now even the greater Israeli and Indigenous communities of Israel (Rahat, Segev Shalom).  It has become quite the beacon of hope and inspiration for all.

CFF & YOM NEW WORLD PASSOVER PARADE

Every year, one of the highlights of New World Passover is the CFF & YOM New World Passover Parade.  It is an opportunity for our youth to showcase our talent and creativity  and our love and enthusiasm for our culture.  With baton twirlers, pom pom girls, flag bearers, and dancers at the lead, the parade is always an array of excitement and color.  Through song, dance, gymnastics, drill teams, and praises of all kinds, we express our appreciation as youth that we are free and have escaped the captivity.
